About Jacaranda Journeys
Jacaranda Journeys grew naturally out of my long connection with Eswatini. Since founding and running the Swazi Kids Society in 2000, I have spent many years traveling throughout the country and region. In 2016, I was asked to guide a group of students who wanted to experience Eswatini—its people, culture, and landscapes—while also giving back through service.
Not knowing exactly what to expect, I said yes. That first trip brought 20 students and was a tremendous success. From that experience, Jacaranda Journeys was born. Since then, the same school, with the same three dedicated teachers, has returned every second year under my guidance.
With the help of excellent support staff, we have now hosted 12 trips, welcoming more than 80 students, 64 adults, and even a few families with young children.
Our trips range from 10 to 14 days and can accommodate groups from 6 to 30 people. Each journey includes meaningful volunteer opportunities, outdoor adventures such as hiking, horseback riding, or mountain biking, and safe, reliable ground transportation with professional providers who meet international standards. Guests enjoy the country’s natural beauty, excellent dining, and world-class safari experiences.
Every detail of your trip can be customized to suit your group—whether it’s a family, group of friends, school, or church community. For me, this is more than a business; it is a passion project. Having explored Eswatini since 1999, I consider it my second home, and I take great pride in sharing it with others.
Please take time to explore the photos and testimonials included here. They reflect the joy, connection, and impact these journeys have created. I would be delighted to design a unique, unforgettable experience for you.
